Butterfly clutch
A butterfly clutch is a common attachment for small lapel pins. It is compact and easy to remove. The post position should be planned so the design sits level on the garment.
Rubber clutch and locking pin back
A rubber clutch provides a softer contact surface. A locking back offers stronger retention for pins that will be worn frequently. Availability and holding strength should be confirmed for the quoted design.
Magnetic backing
A magnet avoids piercing the garment and is useful for some staff name badges and presentation pieces. Magnet strength must be matched to metal weight and garment thickness. Buyers should also consider whether magnets are suitable for the intended environment.
Safety pin and brooch fitting
A safety pin or brooch-style fitting spreads support across a wider area and can suit larger badges. The fitting length and orientation should be reviewed against the badge shape.
Screw post and two-post layouts
Screw posts provide a more fixed attachment for bags, caps and selected hard goods. Two posts help a wide or asymmetrical pin stay level and resist rotation. The final placement is shown on the artwork proof.
